Job Description
- The StorageEngineerposition within the Infrastructure Engineering Services (IES) organization is responsible for managing and supporting the Storage Area Network (SAN) infrastructure.
- This role is crucial for ensuring that a large-scale storage environment, spanning across multiple data centers with over 260PB of storage capacity, operates efficiently.
- The position involves working with various SAN hardware and software to support multiple operating systems.
Responsibilities:
- Storage Provisioning and Reclaims: Allocate and manage storage efficiently, reclaim unused or underutilized storage resources.
- Supporting Array and Fabric Upgrades: Participate in storage array and SAN fabric upgrades to enhance infrastructure capabilities.
- Hardware Tech Refresh: Oversee the lifecycle management and refresh of storage hardware systems.
- Product Management/Support: Provide ongoing support for storage-related products and services.
- Service Request Fulfillment: Address and fulfill infrastructure-related service requests for storage resources.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in managing SAN infrastructure and storage systems.
- Strong understanding of SAN fabric protocols, SAN routing, zoning configuration, and SAN management.
- Strong understanding of ITIL processes.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex storage issues and provide escalation support.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including 24×7 on-call support.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with technical teams.
