The candidate is an experienced CPE Network Engineer and Test Lead with a strong background in testing and validating Wi-Fi and DOCSIS technologies. Currently working with a leading MSO company, they perform hardware PCB testing and Wi-Fi testing, including performance, stability, and DFS standard validations. They are skilled in using IxVeriWave setup for testing and have experience in OMCI protocol data validation for XGS-PON based CPEs. The candidate is proficient in creating automation test suites for functional testing and troubleshooting test failures using TOSCA. They have developed and maintained lab setups for both LAN and WAN-based CPE testing and performed cloud testing on CPEs, specifically focusing on channel optimization, band steering, client steering, and radar detection capabilities. Their expertise includes triaging issues related to Wi-Fi, CCSP processes, and protocols like TR69, SNMP, WebUI, and provisioning. In addition, the candidate has led test activities for various platforms, overseeing sanity, regression, and functional testing of multiple builds. They provide support to development teams to address critical issues, such as optimization failures, radar detection problems, and data model issues. The candidate also writes scripts in PowerShell and Shell to automate tasks like log file filtering and modifying data models. They lead a 6-member offshore team and have been involved in technical discussions to validate features in DOCSIS and PON-based CPEs. Earlier in their career, the candidate worked as a CPE Test Engineer, configuring automation tools and performing testing across various platforms, including DHCP, LAN & WAN performance, DOCSIS traffic, and Wi-Fi features. They were involved in provisioning and onboarding new modems and troubleshooting wireless issues. The candidate has hands-on experience with noise/load generators and participated in discussions to create comprehensive test plans for CPEs.
Responsibilities:
- Perform hardware PCB and Wi-Fi testing, including performance, stability, and DFS standard validations using IxVeriWave setup.
- Conduct OMCI protocol data validation for XGS-PON-based CPEs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve CPE-related issues, focusing on Wi-Fi and CCSP processes like TR69, SNMP, WebUI, and provisioning.
- Develop and maintain automation test suites for functional testing of gateways in TOSCA.
- Write PowerShell and Shell scripts to automate tasks such as log file filtering and modifying data models through TR-181 parameters using dmcli and nmcli utilities.
- Develop and maintain a lab for CPE testing (LAN & WAN) to ensure a proper test environment.
- Set up and manage test setups based on the requirements for different platforms (Compal, CS MV1, and CS MV2).
