Job Description

We are looking for a Desktop Support Engineer to provide comprehensive IT support for end-users and infrastructure, ensuring seamless operation of hardware, software, and network systems.

  • The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, experience in IT infrastructure within manufacturing or plant environments, and a proactive approach to minimizing downtime.
  • This role involves direct interaction with users, IT teams, and operational technology (OT) environments to maintain system reliability and security.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide end-user support for hardware, software, and peripheral devices, including desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems, office applications, and enterprise tools.
  • Assist users with password resets, account unlocks, and access management.
  • Manage and maintain on-site servers, storage systems, network devices, and backup solutions.
  • Ensure high availability and performance of compute, storage, and network resources.
  • Proactively monitor and maintain IT infrastructure to minimize downtime.
  • Support IT infrastructure within manufacturing plants, ensuring seamless IT-OT integration.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot PCD/OT environments, including SCADA systems, industrial networks, and control devices.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure secure and reliable IT-OT convergence.
  • Address challenges unique to production environments, prioritizing system uptime and safety compliance.
  • Perform system imaging, software installation, and updates for end-user devices.
  • Deploy and maintain IT applications as per business requirements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in desktop support, system administration, or IT infrastructure, preferably in manufacturing or plant environments.
Skills
  • Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy management.
  • networking concepts (LAN, WAN, DHCP, DNS, VLANs) and network troubleshooting tools.
