GCP Cloud Engineer (SN0391)
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled GCP Cloud Engineer to support cloud transformation projects, drive automation, and enhance self-service capabilities.
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing GCP infrastructure (PaaS & IaaS), handling incident and change management, optimizing cloud operations, and implementing CI/CD pipelines.
- This role requires expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), automation, and containerized environments to enhance cloud service efficiency and governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Work on cloud transformation projects, focusing on automation and self-service capabilities.
- Provide operational support for GCP infrastructure, including PaaS and IaaS.
- Manage and monitor ServiceNow queues, ensuring timely resolution of GCP-related incidents.
- Handle incident and change management requests from application teams.
- Assist in major production issue escalations, providing engineering support.
- Develop operational capabilities to transition cloud platform responsibilities to Operations post-release.
- Identify manual, siloed tasks and develop automation solutions.
- Define and implement cloud governance policies, automating container platform deployment.
- Facilitate end-user training and knowledge-sharing sessions on GCP services and automation.
- Advocate for and drive adoption of GCP services across teams.
- Implement CI/CD automation for infrastructure using pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Key Requirements

- IAM, Load Balancers, Virtual Networks, Storage, Secrets Management, Compute, Containers, Monitoring, and Alerting.
- monitoring and logging tools like Stackdriver, ELK, and Prometheus.
- secure transport implementation, including TLS, encryption, authentication, and authorization flows.
- Windows and Linux environments, Kubernetes and GKE.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation
- Terraform, Ansible, Bash, and Jenkins.
- DevOps experience, GitHub, Jenkins, and Nexus
- microservices architecture and scripting languages
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in IT automation, with at least 3+ years focused on GCP cloud automation.
- GCP, Terraform, and Kubernetes certifications are a plus.
