Job Description

As a System Administrator, you would be responsible of deployment, maintenance, configuration, and reliable operations of computer systems running on the Linux or Windows operating systems. You will work closely with other members of the IT team to support the client’s technology infrastructure.

As a System Administrator, you will:

  • Install, configure, and maintain Linux and Windows servers and workstations.
  • Update/patch systems and applications with bug fixes, perform security upgrades or new releases.
  • Perform system backups and recovery, monitor system performance and ensure system security.
  • Maintain network servers such as file, DHCP, DNS, proxies, etc.
  • Troubleshoot any reported problems and respond to system-related queries.
  • Document the configuration of the system and the procedures.
  • Script and program for automating tasks.
  • Work on system failures immediately to ensure quick turnaround time and system availability.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience as a Linux and Windows System Administrator.
  • Good experience with Linux-based operating systems (e.g. RedHat, Ubuntu, Debian, etc) and with Windows Servers.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g. VMware, KVM, etc).
  • Prior experience with container and container orchestration technologies (Docker, Podman, etc).
  • Strong understanding of network protocols and concepts (e.g. TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc).
  • Good knowledge of security best practices, including encryption technologies, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  • Knowledge of deployment and configuration automation systems (Ansible, Puppet,..) and scripting e.g. Bash, Python, PowerShell, etc.
  • Fluency in both English and French.
  • It would also be a plus if you match some of the following:
  • Experience with database systems (Oracle DB, MS SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.)
  • Understanding of version control systems, preferably Git.
  • Experience with cloud technologies.
