About Candidate

Introduction:

The candidate is an experienced mechanical design engineer specializing in product development, tool design, and manufacturing processes. They have extensive expertise in designing and developing plastic, sheet metal, and casting components, including injection molding and blow molding tools. Their experience covers end-to-end product development, from concept design to production, ensuring compliance with international standards such as ISO and IEC. They have worked on various mechanical assemblies, including cooling systems, electronic integrations, and turbocharger components, with a strong focus on design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA). The candidate is proficient in 3D/2D CAD modeling using software like Creo, SolidWorks, Siemens NX, and CATIA. They have experience in tolerance stack-up analysis, GD&T, and FEA/CFD simulation validation. Additionally, they have managed product data in PDM systems like Windchill and SAP, coordinated offshore design teams, and participated in global design reviews and technical discussions. Their responsibilities have included supplier coordination, BOM creation, prototype development, and feasibility studies for cost estimation. With expertise in automotive and industrial product design, they have contributed to multiple projects involving adapters, cable glands, oil pumps, actuators, and refrigeration components. They are also well-versed in project management, APQP documentation, and collaborative tools like Jira and Confluence.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and development of plastic, sheet metal, and casting components.
  • Creation and modification of injection molding and blow molding tools.
  • End-to-end product development from concept to production.
  • Conducting design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) analysis.
  • Performing tolerance stack-up analysis and applying GD&T principles.
  • Developing prototype samples for component fitment and functional validation.
  • Creating assembly and component detail drawings.
  • Reviewing and validating FEA/CFD simulation reports.
  • Managing product data in PDM systems like Windchill and SAP.
  • Coordinating offshore design and CAD teams for migration projects.
  • Participating in global design reviews and technical discussions.
  • Preparing feasibility studies for tool cost estimation and product data analysis.
  • Ensuring compliance with international standards such as ISO and IEC.
  • Supplier coordination for tool design review and approval.
  • Creating and maintaining bills of materials (BOM) in ERP systems.
  • Conducting APQP documentation and ISO TS 16949 compliance activities.
  • Collaborating with customers for product evaluation and technical improvements.
  • Leading VAVE (Value Analysis & Value Engineering) initiatives for weight optimization.
  • Managing assembly flow charts, DVP&R, DFMEA, and PFMEA documentation.
