Job Description
We are looking for a Cobol functional analyst to support the redesign of an employee pension rights allocation program, currently provided by a Tuxedo/Cobol application, towards a new solution integrated into our Java ecosystem.
Tasks
- Make an inventory of existing Cobol programs and their uses
- Analyze and document existing Cobol programs
- Analyze and document the relevant data models
- Propose, in consultation with Java architects and analysts, a Java version of these Cobol programs.
- Propose and evaluate conversion tools and strategies. This strategy should rely on the reuse and extension of existing Java programs and computational rules as much as possible.
- Develop a testing strategy.
- Propose a complete roadmap with date and increments for the deployment of the solution and the gradual migration.
- Manage the migration phase, ensure that operations run smoothly, manage risks and ensure that deadlines are met
- We want a complete decommissioning of the Cobol application in May 2026.
Requirements
- Have a thorough working knowledge of Cobol
- Have a working knowledge of a transaction management middleware such as Tuxedo or CICS
- Be familiar with the Java ecosystem: Java language, J2EE stack
- Have an active knowledge of SQL
- Have good analyst experience
- Be able to develop test cases
- Be familiar with Agile methods
- Have a basic knowledge of Jira
- Have experience in similar conversion projects
- The candidate must be autonomous, structured and well organized.
- It will need to be able to communicate clearly with the various stakeholders.
- He will have to be willing and persevering, but also pragmatic and result-oriented.
