Job Description
This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on the design, modeling, and development of specialized handling equipment, including but not limited to cranes, gangways, and winches. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in bringing innovative ideas to life, ensuring that designs align with project specifications, budget constraints, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize and develop handling equipment designs that meet customer requirements and performance criteria.
- Utilize advanced 3D modeling software to create detailed and accurate designs, ensuring optimal functionality and manufacturability.
- Conduct finite element method (FEM) analyses to evaluate the strength, stability, and safety of designs under various load conditions.
- Perform detailed design calculations to support design integrity and compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including design reports, drawings, and manuals, to support project execution and handover.
- Ensure designs are cost-effective and align with budgetary requirements without compromising quality or performance.
- Actively contribute to all phases of project development, from initial concept and pre-engineering studies to final production and implementation.
Skills and Qualifications
- Profound understanding of statics, mechanical systems, and machine design principles.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling and design tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar software.
- Experience with finite element method (FEM) analysis to assess design performance under real-world conditions.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to perform complex design calculations with precision.
- Excellent technical writing skills for creating clear and concise documentation.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
