Job Description
• We are looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer to join a well-established financial services brand.
• In this role, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for driving the cloud strategy, managing migrations, designing architecture, and overseeing the deployment of both internal and customer-facing systems.
• This position is hybrid, requiring regular office visits, so candidates should be based in the South West region.
Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate with senior management to refine and execute the cloud strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Lead initiatives in areas like security, compliance, and migrating systems from on-prem to cloud environments.
• Participate in vendor selection and manage third-party relationships, ensuring service delivery meets organizational standards.
• Oversee high-level security considerations and perform threat analysis to safeguard systems.
• Support cloud-based integrations and provide mentorship to internal teams.
• Take a hands-on role in working with cloud platforms such as Azure and Google Cloud (GCP), managing provisioning, observability, and overseeing deployment pipelines.
• Ensure high levels of automation and maintain efficient and scalable cloud environments.
Requirements:
• At least 10 years of experience in the industry, with a strong background in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), transitioning into a more architecturally-focused role.
• Proven experience with cloud migrations, vendor management, security practices, and infrastructure management.
• Background in the Financial Services sector is highly desirable.
• Professional certifications in GCP and Azure (preferably at the Solutions Architect level) are beneficial.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
