Job Description
We are seeking a Survey Engineer with a strong background in electronics and airborne systems to support the installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of aerial survey sensors.
- This role involves working with flight navigation systems, Lidar sensors, digital cameras, and other high-tech airborne survey equipment.
- The ideal candidate will have experience in geographical mapping concepts, sensor calibration, and aerial data quality control.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, install, and test survey sensors and equipment in aircraft prior to deployment.
- Perform pre- and post-deployment checklists to ensure system integrity.
- Ensure compliance with aviation installation and certification processes.
- Operate high-tech airborne sensors during flight, including Lidar, digital cameras, and navigation systems.
- Maintain an understanding of geographical mapping concepts such as coordinate systems and datum.
- Monitor sensor performance during flights and ensure optimal data collection.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on all sensor systems.
- Diagnose and resolve sensor issues in collaboration with manufacturers and internal teams.
- Maintain a log of equipment issues, repairs, and required upgrades.
- Conduct sensor calibrations to ensure compliance with client specifications.
- Review and validate aerial survey data for accuracy and quality.
- Work closely with Operators and Data Processors to monitor and enhance sensor performance.
- Train airborne operators on the use and maintenance of survey sensors.
- Update BMS procedures related to sensor mobilization and operation activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Degree/Diploma in Electronics, Geomatics, Aerospace, or a related field.
