Systems Engineer (SN0746)
Job Description
We are looking for a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our team and help ensure the performance, availability, security, and scalability of our infrastructure and services. You’ll play a crucial role in architecting and maintaining robust systems that support millions of users worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Maximize service uptime and availability through proactive capacity planning, robust system architecture, automation, and fast incident response.
- Optimize server-side and client-side performance to deliver the fastest possible user experiences, including integrations with third-party services where necessary.
- Ensure security and data integrity by implementing monitoring systems, enforcing security best practices, and maintaining disaster recovery processes such as backups and data recovery protocols.
- Act as a key enabler for the development team, reducing friction and offering rapid, accurate support to help ship software efficiently.
- Design and manage large-scale Nginx configurations for load balancing, routing, and high-availability.
- Maintain and optimize high-performance MySQL/MariaDB environments, ensuring superior uptime and data integrity.
- Support and troubleshoot large-scale PHP applications, ensuring they perform reliably under heavy load.
- Understand and manage low-level system components including filesystems, network configurations, memory usage, and kernel-level operations.
- Independently architect, prototype, and maintain solutions for diverse infrastructure and hosting challenges.
- Uphold a strong culture of operational excellence and meticulous attention to detail in all system processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience managing and scaling complex, public-facing web infrastructure.
- Nginx configuration and management at scale.
- MySQL/MariaDB performance
- PHP application performance and debugging.
- Solid grasp of systems internals including filesystems, networking, and memory management.
- Experience in infrastructure automation and scripting for system provisioning and maintenance.
- Strong communication skills
